About the Role:
The Sales Engineer Manager leads the technical sales engineering function, supporting the commercial team with technical expertise, solution design, and client engagement. This role bridges engineering and sales by ensuring that customer requirements are clearly understood, technically feasible, and translated into competitive commercial proposals while driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Sales Leadership
- Manage and mentor the sales engineering team to achieve sales and technical targets.
- Provide technical guidance during client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
- Oversee preparation of technical proposals, specifications, and solution designs.
Business Development Support
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Participate in strategic account planning and key client engagements.
- Support bid management, tenders, and contract negotiations.
Product & Solution Expertise
- Maintain deep knowledge of company products, systems, and industry technologies.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for customers.
- Ensure solutions align with client requirements and company capabilities.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with engineering, production, project management, and marketing teams.
- Provide feedback on market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity.
- Ensure smooth transition from pre-sales to project execution.
Performance & Process Improvement
- Monitor sales engineering KPIs, pipeline support, and win rates.
- Develop best practices, tools, and documentation to improve efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement in proposal quality and response time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
- 7–9 years of experience in technical sales or engineering roles.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong commercial awareness and customer engagement skills.
