Position Overview:

The Cost Control Specialist will be responsible for overseeing food and beverage costs, inventory management, and waste reduction, all aimed at improving the overall financial performance of the restaurant. This position requires strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food & Beverage Cost Control: Monitor and analyze food and beverage costs, ensuring they align with budgeted targets.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, perform regular inventory checks, and maintain accurate records.
  • Waste Reduction: Identify areas of food waste and implement strategies to minimize losses.
  • Budget Preparation & Forecasting: Collaborate with the management team to create cost-effective menus, prepare budget reports, and forecast financial outcomes.
  • Price Optimization: Review menu pricing to ensure competitiveness while maintaining profit margins.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Cost Reports & Analysis: Prepare detailed reports on food costs, labor costs, and other operational expenses to identify trends and suggest cost-saving strategies.
  • Collaboration with Kitchen & Front-of-House: Work closely with chefs, kitchen staff, and the front-of-house team to ensure seamless operations and cost efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in cost control, financial analysis, or restaurant management.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, food costing, and inventory systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the restaurant industry is a plus.
