Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and innovative Fashion Designer to join our dynamic Atelier team. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing high-quality fashion collections that align with our brand's aesthetic and vision. The ideal candidate is passionate about textiles, trends, and sustainable practices, with a keen eye for detail and a collaborative spirit. This position offers the opportunity to work in a hands-on studio environment, contributing to everything from initial sketches to final prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

- **Design Development**: Create original fashion designs, including sketches, mood boards, and technical drawings, from concept to completion. Collaborate with the creative director to develop seasonal collections that reflect current trends while maintaining the Atelier's unique style.

- **Fabric and Material Selection**: Research and source fabrics, trims, and materials that are innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective. Ensure selections meet quality standards and align with production capabilities.

- **Pattern Making and Prototyping**: Work closely with pattern makers and seamstresses to develop prototypes, conduct fittings, and refine designs for optimal fit and functionality.

- **Trend Analysis**: Stay ahead of fashion trends by attending industry events, analyzing market data, and incorporating insights into design strategies.

- **Collaboration**: Partner with cross-functional teams, including production, marketing, and sales, to ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing and appealing to target audiences.

- **Quality Control**: Oversee sample production, identify potential issues, and make adjustments to ensure the final products meet high standards of craftsmanship.

- **Sustainability Focus**: Integrate eco-friendly practices into designs, such as using recycled materials or minimizing waste in the production process.

- **Documentation**: Maintain detailed records of design processes, including specifications, cost estimates, and timelines.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, or a related field.

- 6+ years of experience in fashion design, preferably in an atelier or studio setting.

- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD programs for fashion.

- Strong portfolio showcasing original designs, from sketches to finished garments.

- Knowledge of garment construction, draping techniques, and sewing skills.

- Excellent understanding of color theory, fabric properties, and fashion history.
