The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the comprehensive design, development, and documentation of Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear electrical systems, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, project timelines, and client/utility requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop Electrical Schematics for Medium Voltage switchgear (11kV switchgear experience is an added advantage).
• Develop schematic diagrams and wiring diagrams for the switchgear from SLD, BLD, and PMD.
• Prepare a detailed BOM for the electrical requirements for the panel.
• Submit the drawings to the clients timely and follow up through the different stages of the projects.
• Communicate effectively across departments (Purchase, Production, and Testing).
• Timely address the changes proposed by utilities/Clients, implement the necessary changes to the drawing, and properly maintain the tracking data.
• Review and approve technical specifications and vendor drawings for electrical components
• Create and maintain the document control register for all project drawings and revisions
• Support the production team during the panel assembly and wiring stages to resolve design queries.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant local and international electrical standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI).

Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required:

• 4–8 years of experience in a Medium Voltage switchgear Manufacturing Company.
• Ability to independently interact with Clients/Consultants.
• Proficient in ACAD, EPLAN, and other electrical drawing packages.
• Strong knowledge of protection schemes, relays, and the application of Siemens, ABB and SEL relays.
• Strong knowledge of IEC standards for medium voltage switchgear.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, especially 33/11kV substations.
• Strong hands-on skills in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PPT, and Projects).

Qualification:

• Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma.
• Fluent English.
• Certification in Electrical Design & Protection (Advantageous).
