This course explores the next generation of AI-powered development inside Visual Studio Code, focusing on coding agents, background automation, and multi-model workflows. It is designed for developers who want to move beyond traditional AI assistance and fully embrace agent-based coding.

You will learn how to use GitHub Copilot’s agent mode and cloud coding agents to plan, build, test, and deploy applications with minimal manual effort. The course covers managing agents, prompts, instructions, and skills using VS Code extensions, as well as working with agent sessions and plan agents for long-running or complex tasks.

A key focus is the Model Context Protocol (MCP), where you’ll learn how to set up and use MCP servers, connect external tools and data sources, and bring your own models or API keys into VS Code. The course also demonstrates how to switch between and compare leading AI models such as GPT-5, Claude Sonnet, Codex, Grok, and others inside a single workflow.

Through real-world demos, you will build and deploy full applications, including React-based projects, while learning best practices for improving AI responses, managing context, and using background agents effectively. By the end of this course, you will confidently design AI-driven workflows that dramatically accelerate modern software development.
