Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

Responsible for managing and maintaining Apache Kafka clusters. Building real-time streaming data pipelines and event-driven architectures Installing and configuring Kafka clusters, including setting up brokers, Zookeeper, and   other components Ensure that the cluster is properly provisioned and optimized for performance, scalability, and fault tolerance. Monitoring the health and performance of Kafka clusters, identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring high availability and reliability.24*7 support. Use monitoring tools to track key metrics such as throughput, latency, and disk utilization, and they perform regular maintenance tasks like log retention, compaction, and data cleanup. Implementing security measures to protect Kafka clusters and data Configure authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as SSL/TLS encryption, SASL (Simple Authentication and Security Layer), and ACLs (Access Control Lists)               Assessing the resource requirements of Kafka clusters and planning for future   Capacity needs Analyze usage patterns, data volume, and traffic trends to estimate resource requirements and scale the clusters accordingly to handle increasing workloads Troubleshooting and Performance Optimization: Identifying and resolving issues related to Kafka cluster performance, data replication, message delivery, lags. Analyze logs, monitor system metrics, and utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and optimize cluster performance
