Key Responsibilities
The specific responsibilities are tailored to the online retail environment:
- Product Content Management: Overseeing the creation, editing, and publishing of high-quality, persuasive, and SEO-optimized product descriptions, images, and rich media (videos, animations) across the e-commerce platform.
- E-commerce Strategy & Planning: Developing and executing a content strategy that aligns with short-term and long-term e-commerce sales targets and overall business goals.
- Platform Management: Managing content within the e-commerce platform's Content Management System (CMS) (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WordPress), ensuring a seamless user journey and correct product categorization and presentation.
- Production Oversight & Project Management: Coordinating the production workflow, including managing timelines, budgets, and a team of writers, graphic designers, and videographers to ensure timely product launches and promotional campaigns.
- SEO and Performance Analysis: Optimizing all web content for search engines to increase organic traffic. This includes ongoing keyword research and using analytics tools (like Google Analytics) to monitor content performance, user engagement, and conversion rates to make data-driven decisions.
- Marketing Collaboration: Collaborating closely with marketing, sales, and operations teams to align on promotional campaigns, email marketing efforts, social media content, and inventory levels.
- Quality Assurance (QA): Conducting quality control to ensure all online content is accurate, consistent with brand voice and style guidelines, legally compliant (e.g., copyright), and free of errors.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: Proven experience in content management and production, preferably within an e-commerce or digital retail environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento), Content Management Systems (CMS), and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush).
