Job Overview:
Turing Robotics is building datasets of human and robot activity to train the next generation of physical AI models. Our goal is to capture huge volumes of high-fidelity data across a diverse range of industries and daily activities.
As the Field Operations Lead (Egypt), you will be responsible for launching and expanding our data collection operations in the region.
You will build the local team, establish data collection, transfer, and quality control operations, manage hardware logistics and technical support, and secure partnerships with local businesses and workers to capture high volumes of diverse data.
Key Responsibilities:
Launch & Lead Egypt Operations
Team Building: Recruit and manage a lean, high-velocity local team.
Playbook Development: Collaborate with the UAE team to create SOPs for scalable data collection in Egypt.
Manage Data Collection & Logistics
Hardware Management: Oversee the full supply chain for hardware entering Egypt, including customs, storage in Cairo, and deployment to partner sites.
Data Loop: Manage the daily process of device deployment, data capture, retrieval, and upload, ensuring asset security and minimizing loss.
Data Transfer: Secure sites with high-bandwidth connectivity for data processing and transfer.
Source & Scale Partner Networks
Business Partnerships: Secure agreements with companies across various sectors (manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, agriculture, etc.).
Worker Recruitment: Build recruitment funnels (social media, agencies, universities) for task-based data collection.
Legal Compliance & Financial Operations
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure operations comply with Egyptian labor laws and data privacy regulations.
Payment Operations: Set up systems for processing high-volume, low-value payouts to businesses and operators across Egypt.
Requirements:
Local Operator: 5+ years of operations experience, including 3+ years scaling tech-enabled or logistics operations in Egypt (e.g., Careem, Talabat, Swvl, Amazon Egypt, Noon, Rabbit).
Logistics Veteran: Expertise in navigating Cairo’s logistics challenges, including customs delays, fleet management, and asset security in a dynamic environment.
Bilingual Communicator: Fluent in Arabic and English, able to negotiate with Cairo-based factory operators and present reports to UAE leadership.
Process Excellence: Proven experience in designing and executing complex operational playbooks.
Resourceful Problem Solver: Comfortable with ambiguity and quick to adapt, finding solutions efficiently when faced with delays or last-minute changes.
