UAQ is currently seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our team.


About the Role


The ideal candidate shall be following the mentioned below Responsibilities and Qualifications:


Responsibilities:

Traffic Impact Studies:

  • Conduct or coordinate traffic impact assessments for proposed developments.
  • Model traffic flow and parking demand to assess future transportation needs.

Design & Planning:

  • Collaborate with planners, civil engineers, and architects to design internal road networks, access points, driveways, and parking facilities.
  • Review and develop site access plans that optimize traffic circulation and safety.
  • Recommend traffic control measures such as signage, signals, and roundabouts as needed.

Regulatory & Permitting:

  • Prepare technical documentation for transportation-related permits.
  • Liaise with municipal transportation departments, planning authorities, and consultants to gain approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal traffic and transportation regulations.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Support public presentations or hearings related to traffic and transportation components of development projects.
  • Address traffic concerns raised by local communities or planning bodies.

Project Support:

  • Provide technical input during feasibility studies, master planning, and environmental reviews.
  • Review consultant traffic reports and ensure alignment with project requirements


Qualifications


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering. Master’s degree is a plus.

Certifications:

  • PE license or ability to obtain it preferred.

Experience:

  • 3–7 years in traffic engineering, ideally with exposure to real estate development projects.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, SIDRA, VISSIM).
  • Strong understanding of local and regional transportation planning policies.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to interpret site plans and transportation studies
