Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying section, ensuring effective planning, workload distribution, and performance monitoring.
  • Prepare, review, and approve cost plans, BOQs, estimates, and tender documentation for all project phases.
  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets and provide accurate cost forecasts and cash flow reports.
  • Review contractors’ interim payments, final accounts, variations, and claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contracts.
  • Evaluate change orders and variations, assess financial impact, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Ensure implementation of cost control systems and value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs.
  • Coordinate with design, construction, and planning teams to ensure cost alignment with project scope and timelines.
  • Provide regular commercial reports to senior management highlighting risks, savings, and cost trends.
  • Mentor and develop QS team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards.
  • Review contract terms related to payments, variations, claims, and commercial risks.
  • Assist in evaluating contractual claims, disputes, and extensions of time in coordination with legal and contracts teams.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of contractual and commercial correspondence.
  • Contribute to improving contract management procedures and templates within the organization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in contract management or a related role, preferably in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or section head role is highly preferred.
  • Strong exposure to FIDIC or similar standard forms of contracts.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
