Job Description
- Database Backup and Recovery:
- Perform regular backups of headquarter servers, store servers, and Point of Sale (POS) systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and downtime and perform regular test restores.
- Log Shipping:
- Manage and maintain log shipping for all company databases to ensure data consistency and availability across different locations.
- Monitor log-shipping processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Continuously monitor database performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks and performance issues.
- Utilize performance-monitoring tools to ensure optimal database performance and availability.
- Advanced Custom Queries:
- Create and optimize advanced custom queries to support business operations and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to understand data requirements and develop efficient queries.
- Database Optimization:
- Implement best practices for database optimization, like indexing, query optimization, and resource management and other tools to improve performance.
- Regularly review and optimize database configurations to ensure efficient operation.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in SQL Database management, preferably in the retail sector.
- Proficiency in SQL and database scripting languages.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with log shipping, database replication, and data synchronization techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of database security best practices.
- Experience in creating custom queries to support business operations and reporting.
