We are looking for a Mobile QA Engineer to join our team and contribute to testing a native Android and iOS application.
The product focuses on women’s health, including pregnancy and menstrual cycle tracking, and includes real-life user journeys and state-based behaviors with long-term personal data.
This role requires attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a solid understanding of how native mobile applications behave across different scenarios and environments.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze software requirements and system design to ensure clarity, completeness, and testability.
- Identify gaps, ambiguities, edge cases, and potential risks in requirements, and communicate them clearly.
- Design, write, and maintain high-quality test cases covering functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios.
- Execute manual test cases for native Android and iOS applications.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover issues beyond documented requirements.
- Test applications across different devices, OS versions, and environments, including backend integrations.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar.
- Report bugs clearly and professionally using Jira, with well-defined reproduction steps and expected vs. actual results.
- Track reported issues until closure and verify fixes thoroughly.
- Provide regular test execution status and quality feedback to QA Lead or senior team members.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product teams to clarify behavior and improve overall product quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on native mobile applications (Android and iOS).
- Good understanding of:
- Mobile application lifecycle
- Application states (foreground, background, termination)
- Native mobile behaviors such as permissions, notifications, and interruptions
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger).
- Solid knowledge of SDLC, QA methodologies, and testing processes.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
- Ability to distinguish between functional, usability, and performance-related issues.
- Experience using bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
- CT-MAT Mobile Application Testing certification.
Nice to Have
- Experience testing health-related or data-sensitive applications, where accuracy and data consistency over time are critical.
- Strong exploratory testing skills, including the ability to:
- Analyze user behavior and edge cases
- Design scenarios beyond written requirements
- Question assumptions and identify hidden risks
- Experience working on applications with complex business logic, such as state-dependent features or long user journeys.
