• New Product Development & Packaging Innovation (40%)
• Lead packaging design and development for new private label products across multiple categories
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate brand vision into packaging excellence
• Drive innovation in materials, formats, and functionality that differentiate our products
• Conduct packaging trials and validate performance before commercialization
• Document packaging specifications and agree quality control standards with suppliers and with internal stakeholders
• Stay ahead of global packaging trends and bring cutting-edge solutions to our portfolio
• Supplier Management & Quality Assurance (25%)
• Source, evaluate, and onboard packaging suppliers who meet our quality and innovation standards
• Conduct supplier technical audits and performance reviews to ensure consistency and reliability
• Build strategic partnerships that drive value, innovation, and competitive advantage
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate optimal terms
• Oversee minimal travel to supplier premises when critical touchpoints are needed
• Cost Optimization & Value Engineering (20%)
• Identify opportunities to optimize packaging costs without compromising quality or brand integrity
• Conduct value engineering projects to improve packaging efficiency
• Analyze cost structures and implement strategic sourcing initiatives
• Balance cost, quality, and sustainability in packaging decisions
• Track and report on cost savings initiatives
• Managing packaging aspects of new products launches (15% of the workload):
• Determine packaging materials launch volume forecasts for new private label products
• Collaborate with Marketing to understand requirements and reflect on specifications and scope of work for the suppliers
• Monitor the market trends in new packaging
• Provide recommendations for phase-out of underperforming packing materials
• Enhance quality of existing packing materials in light of consumer requirements and complaints
  
  

Responsibilities

• Relevant bachelors degree
• 4-5 years of experience in FMCG and/or food packaging across different industries and preferred experience in packaging manufacturing companies
• Proven track record in technical packaging roles with hands-on supplier management experience
• Deep understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control
• Knowledge of Egyptian food safety regulations and international packaging standards
• Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with packaging design software is a plus
  
  

Requirements

• Packaging certification (e.g., IoP, IOPP, or similar professional credentials)
• Experience with private label or retail own-brand products
• Background in sustainability and environmental packaging initiatives
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience in team leadership or mentoring roles
