Job Summary:Experienced Urban Design Lead responsible for managing and guiding design teams through all project phases, from concept development to final delivery. Oversees urban design strategies, ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory standards, and project timelines. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative, sustainable, and high-quality urban solutions while maintaining budget and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of urban designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support throughout the design process. Oversee the development of concept designs, ensuring they align with project objectives, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate urban design elements into overall project plans. Conduct site analysis and research to gather relevant data and information for informed design decisions. Prepare and present design proposals, including visualizations and presentations, to clients and stakeholders. Coordinate and manage design reviews, ensuring constructive feedback is incorporated into the design process. Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in urban design.
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable. Proven experience of 10 to 12 years in urban design or related roles. Proficiency in utilizing design software such as Auto CAD, Sketch Up, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Strong skills in conceptual design, including the ability to create visually appealing and innovative designs. Familiarity with urban planning regulations, codes, and design guidelines. Excellent leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and mentor a team of designers. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members. Proficiency in project management, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure deliverables are of high quality. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges. Knowledge of sustainable design principles and the integration of green spaces in urban environments.
