Job Description

The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for the overall management and operation of our scaffold production plant. This role requires a dynamic leader with proven expertise in production, supply chain management, quality control, and team leadership. The GM will ensure that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and processes are continuously optimized to improve efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Incumbent will be expected to lead the factory setup process. This will comprise, identifying suitable land, finalising plant configuration, getting necessary approvals, manpower recruitment, vendor finalisation, etc. 

• Operations Management:
• Oversee the entire production process from planning to delivery, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Manage day-to-day activities of the plant, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and operational goals.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet demand and deadlines.
• Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of supervisors, operators, and production staff.
• Develop and implement training programs to improve skills and foster a positive, productive work environment.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
• Quality Assurance:
• Ensure all scaffolding products meet the company’s strict quality standards.
• Implement and maintain quality control processes to minimize defects and rework.
• Work closely with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve production issues.
• Supply Chain and Inventory Management:
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to avoid production delays.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
• Optimize inventory management systems to reduce waste and minimize costs.
• Budget and Financial Management:
• Develop and manage the production plant budget.
• Analyze production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement strategies to improve profitability.
• Monitor and control expenses, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial objectives.
• Health and Safety:
• Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols across the plant.
• Promote a culture of safety among employees.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost-efficiency improvements.
• Lead initiatives to streamline production processes and increase throughput without compromising quality.
• Leverage data-driven insights to make informed decisions and foster continuous improvement.

Skills

• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations in scaffold manufacturing and safety.

Prior experience in Scaffolding Manufacturing Facility is a must .
