Job Description
This role involves managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring food quality. As a senior chef, you will be responsible for planning and organizing all aspects of kitchen activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage kitchen staff to achieve optimal performance and productivity.
- Plan menus and pricing strategies in collaboration with the executive chef.
- Supervise food preparation and presentation to ensure high-quality standards.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement measures to minimize risks.
- Conduct employee performance appraisals and provide feedback on areas for improvement.
- Participate in training programs to enhance personal and departmental skills.
- Coordinate with other departments to improve overall hotel operations.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of post-apprenticeship experience in a similar industry or 4-5 star establishment.
- Ability to assist the executive chef in all areas of rostering, management, ordering, and receiving, and cost control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
