Job Summary:
The Environmental and Social Risk Manager is responsible for designing and implementing an ESG risk management framework that aligns with international standards and regulatory expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risk considerations into the bank’s credit and investment activities.
- Evaluating ESG risks across credit & investment transactions.
- Leading the bank’s efforts in assessing exposure to climate-related risks, both physical and transition through stress testing.
- Developing forward looking models to simulate the impact of climate change on the bank’s portfolio.
- Identifying vulnerable sectors and recommending mitigation strategies to ensure long-term resilience.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field.- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in environmental and social risk assessment, preferably within the financial sector.
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, TCFD, ISSB).
- Experience conducting climate risk stress testing and scenario analysis.
- Familiarity with credit risk processes and ESG due diligence.
- Awareness of local and international ESG regulations.
