Main Duties

  • Cost Control Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and implement cost control strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to establish cost control targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in the development of annual budgets and cost forecasts.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend measures to improve cost efficiency.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of budget plans and forecasts.
  • Review and analyze budgetary allocations for different departments and projects.
  • Monitor actual expenses against budgets and provide explanations for variances.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop accurate and realistic cost estimates for new projects or initiatives.
  • Cost Monitoring and Analysis:
  • Oversee the monitoring and analysis of costs across various departments and activities.
  • Review and validate invoices, bills, and expense reports for accuracy and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Analyze cost variances and investigate reasons for deviations.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis on cost trends, highlighting areas of concern or improvement.
  • Cost Control Measures:
  • Establish and enforce cost control policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Train and guide staff on cost control practices and compliance.
  • Implement measures to monitor and control costs, such as cost monitoring systems and approval processes.
  • Collaborate with department heads and project managers to ensure adherence to cost control measures.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Prepare cost reports, cost-benefit analyses, and profitability analyses.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare and present cost control reports to senior management.
  • Team Management and Collaboration:
  • Lead and supervise a team of cost control professionals.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather cost-related information and insights.
  • Compliance and Audit Support:
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies related to cost control.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary information and resolve audit queries.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to cost control.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Propose and implement process improvements in cost monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the cost control team.
  • Comply to all work-related instructions as it may arise.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in cost control, cost accounting, or related roles, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
