Job Summary:

ACC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quantity Surveying Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position requires a strong background with a main contractor, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment. Proficiency in French is highly preferred due to the nature of our projects in various African regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Planning & Estimation: Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and bills of quantities for various stages of projects, from conceptual design to tender.
• Tender & Procurement: Assist in the preparation of tender documents, evaluate bids, and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve the best value for money.
• Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and specifications.
• Variation & Claim Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate variations and claims, ensuring fair and equitable resolutions.
• Financial Reporting & Control: Monitor project costs against budget, prepare regular financial reports, and implement cost control measures to ensure projects are delivered within allocated funds.
• Valuation of Works: Conduct interim valuations of work in progress and final accounts, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
• Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and opportunities and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a recognized university.
• 4 to 6 years of progressive experience as a Quantity Surveying Engineer, with a significant portion of this experience gained within a main contractor environment.
• Excellent knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation, cost control, and contract administration.
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, quantity surveying software).
• Fluency in French (written and spoken) is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders.
