The team and the role

Kemet is looking for an experienced SRE to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of our critical internal and external trading services and systems. If you are passionate about operation, observability, systems architecture, and security, this role may be a good match for you.

Who we are looking for

Kemet is looking for an individual with a similar background as described below.

• 10+ years of software development experience in escalating roles of progressive responsibility
• 3+ years of production operation support in an SRE capacity
• Previous experience supporting financial trading or transactions services
• A track record of successful solo delivery of complex outcomes
• A curiosity and desire to always ask ‘why’ and dig deep into technical problems of varying complexity and ambiguity

Nice to have

• Previous product software development experience with Golang microservices
• Previous experience in the crypto or trading industries
• Previous experience and comfort with our tech stack: Golang services in Kubernetes on AWS, managed by Helm and Terraform

What is expected of you

Kemet is expecting the right candidate to be a ‘T-shaped’ individual, with a depth of experience in software engineering and operations, and a desire and willingness to work throughout the stack, from infrastructure up to the application stack. The candidate will participate in the design, implementation and operation of our global trading platform, specifically:

• owning our observability journey and roadmap
• documenting runbooks and supporting assets for services throughout the platform
• identifying and solving operational bottlenecks and issues throughout the platform
• participating in on-call rotation
