Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Medical Department (Ophthalmology)

Overview:

As a Field Service Engineer in the Medical Department specializing in Ophthalmology, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing ophthalmic medical equipment across hospitals, clinics, and healthcare centers. Your role is critical in ensuring the reliability and performance of life-enhancing technologies used in eye care. In addition to providing top-tier technical support, you will work closely with clients to identify service needs, promote service contracts, and ensure long-term satisfaction. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a passion for healthcare service and a proactive, customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Support: Provide on-site technical assistance for ophthalmic medical devices, ensuring optimal performance.

Installation

• and Commissioning: Install and calibrate new ophthalmic systems and devices at client sites.
• Preventive Maintenance & Repairs: Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs to uphold safety and compliance standards.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment issues swiftly to minimize disruption to medical services.
• Relationship Management: Build strong professional relationships with medical staff and administrators.
• Service Contract Promotion: Proactively identify opportunities to promote and sell service contracts for installed ophthalmology equipment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, installation reports, and equipment histories.
• Training: Train end-users (doctors, nurses, technicians) on device operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Compliance: Ensure all service activities meet medical safety regulations and company standards.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on ophthalmic technology advancements and manufacturer certifications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written Arabic & English
• Prior experience in servicing ophthalmology or medical imaging devices is highly preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to travel regularly to hospitals and clinics across the assigned territory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and service reporting tools.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in medical device servicing.
