Job Description

  • Manage and monitor all accounting operations related to construction projects, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze project budgets, cost reports, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Track project expenditures, ensuring all costs are allocated correctly and within approved budgets.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to verify and process invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and project-related transactions on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports specific to construction activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for construction-related transactions.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues related to project billing, contracts, and change orders.
  • Contribute to process improvements and the implementation of best practices in construction accounting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of proven experience in accounting, preferably within the construction or real estate industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction project accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of local financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience with cost tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting for construction projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office-based environment.
