This introductory course in power electronics provides learners with a foundational understanding of how electronic devices are used to control and convert electrical power efficiently. It is designed for electrical engineering students, electronics learners, and beginners interested in modern power systems.
The course begins by explaining the role of power electronics in electrical engineering and how it differs from traditional electronics. Learners will understand how power electronic systems manage voltage, current, and energy conversion in industrial and consumer applications.
A major focus is placed on semiconductor switching devices such as diodes, transistors, MOSFETs, and thyristors. The course explains how these components operate as electronic switches to regulate electrical power flow in circuits.
Learners will also explore the basics of AC-to-DC, DC-to-DC, DC-to-AC, and AC-to-AC power conversion systems used in power supplies, renewable energy systems, motor drives, and industrial automation.
The course introduces efficiency, switching control, and energy management concepts that are critical in modern electrical systems and electronic devices.
By the end of this lecture, learners will have a strong understanding of power electronics fundamentals and the basic principles behind electrical power c
