Job Description

Job Purpose

The Commis Chef assists the kitchen team in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency, hygiene, and efficiency in the resort’s food & beverage operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation (cutting, chopping, marinating, etc.) under supervision of senior chefs.
  • Cook simple dishes and assist in plating according to menu standards.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations.
  • Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Assist in stock control by reporting shortages and minimizing waste.
  • Support senior chefs during service in busy periods.


Skills


  • Diploma or certificate in culinary arts preferred.
  • Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is an advantage.
  • Basic cooking knowledge with willingness to learn.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
