About the job
- Contribute to the prevention and monitoring of AML/TF non-compliance risks through an analysis of generated alerts, reports, and KYC files.
- Analyse the alerts generated from the relevant AML tool based on alert frequencies based on customer’s profile, activity, and overall account behavior in liaison with the respective RM/home branch.
- Refer the unjustified transactions to the different Lines of Business (LOBs) to collect required justification/feedback.
- Assess the feedback / justification received from different RMs with regards to the unusual transaction(s).
- Obtain documentary proof of the suspicion’s transactions generated from AML tool and perform the required analysis to take the proper decision whether to issue STR (suspicious Transaction Report) or to archive the case after getting financial crime head and MLRO’s approval.
- Raise the suspicious transaction reports (STR) as applicable and where required based on the analysis of the generated alerts taking into consideration the AML law and guidelines.
- Provide approval for High-risk accounts “Onboarding / KYC review”.
- Ensure the defined risk assessment framework is properly applied for clients, bank channels, products, and services in accordance with the related AML/KYC regulations.
- Assist in handling and cover audit requirements that is related to AML and TF.
- Assist in ensuring that the AML&KYC policy and procedure is up to date and comply with the recent law/regulations and review any new or updated policies and procedures in light of AML and TF related regulations.
- Reply on the regulator periodic requests related to AML/ TF, and handle FI related requests from AML perspective and FATCA related requests.
- Assist in preparing the ongoing requested reports or surveys by regulator / EMLCU or any other related parties.
- Contribute of spreading the AML/TF compliance culture across the bank.
- Follow and implement all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Follow the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the department and preparing requested reports to ensure continuity of work. Ensure being innovative, initiative and recommend new approaches related to own jobs.
- ComplianceComply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal AAIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain AAIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration or any related discipline
- Officer: 0 - 3 years of experience in the banking sector
- For Sr. Officer: Min of 3 years of experience in the banking sector
- Sufficient banking experience in different fields.
- Certified in Compliance international certificates.
- In-depth knowledge of Banking Laws & Regulations.
