Job Summary:
The CMA Certified Accountant is responsible for executing comprehensive accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and analyzing accounting data to facilitate the preparation of financial reports. This role involves managing business transactions such as disbursement orders, payment processing, petty cash management, cash deposits, and transfers, while reinforcing internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain data integrity.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping & Transaction Management
- Compile, analyze, and record all accounting information related to business transactions, including disbursement orders, payment orders, petty cash, cash deposits, and transfers.
- Maintain precise, organized, and up-to-date financial records of all transactions.
- Prepare and process invoices, payment documents, revenue and expense entries, payroll transactions, and other relevant accounting documents.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts (e.g., deductions, expenses), analyze variances, and ensure accuracy.
- Log all financial data into the accounting system accurately to ensure reliable and accessible records.
- Maintain an organized backup of accounting reports as an alternative to automated records for audit purposes.
Operational & Financial Reporting Activities
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal control procedures to ensure the reliability and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and submit drafts for review to the Senior Accountant.
- Facilitate payments by preparing transfers, cash payments, and related documentation for administrative expenses.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of all financial records.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial processes.
- Implement internal control measures to protect company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors, regulators, and other external agencies as required.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as assigned by the Direct Manager.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and best practices in accounting and finance.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Management Accountant is mandatory from American University.
- Strong Experience in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Should have relevant experience accounting software like ERP, Yardi, and others.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in Real Estate, Construction, or similar industries.
Language Skills
- Proficiency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
