Job Description:

• § Oversee the review, optimization, and approval of structural design documents while ensuring adherence to project goals, safety standards, and cost efficiency through value engineering.
• Manage staff and sub-consultants engaged in carrying out investigations, feasibility studies, structural inspections/assessments, the design and preparation of contract documents for structural engineering works.
• Assume technical and administrative responsibility for the preparation of quality plans, scheme programs, assessments and design work, and contract documents.
• Provide the highest level of technical sufficiency within The Structural Engineering Section, including the identification and promotion on innovation and practical design solutions.
• Organize and provide technical support and training of project engineers and technical staff on structural engineering.
• Develop and monitor the department's work programs to ensure contract deadlines are adhered to. § Prepare and monitor resource schedules and targets.
• Interchange with other management team members and assist in the management of any activities undertaken by the department in order to give a balanced workload.
• Review and update technical standards, office procedures, construction techniques, and use of materials to ensure that the specifications and schemes prepared by The Section reflect best practices.
• Allocate resources, prepare and monitor department programs and workload.
• Promote the functions of the Division both internally and externally to the Authority and to assist in the formation of policy matters and section service plan
• Assist in arranging contracts for the acquisition of sub-consultants, and temporary staff, monitor fees and performance.
• Provide professional advice in the event of emergency incidents affecting the structural integrity of buildings and structures.

Needed Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• Preferred: Registered Consulting Engineer in structural design.
• 8-12 years of experience in design of concrete and steel structures.
• Proficiency in analyzing and designing structural elements (steel, concrete, wood, etc.).
• Familiarity with building codes.
• Expertise in tools like ETAPS, SAP2000, SAFE, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Ability to resolve structural engineering challenges.
• Knowledge of budgeting and cost estimation related to structural works.
• Skills in planning, scheduling, and managing structural engineering projects.
• Clear communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth negotiations and solutions.

• Ability to lead and guide a small team, fostering motivation and efficiency.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and optimize collections efforts.
• Very Good Command of English and Arabic
