Job Description
- A 150 bed hospital in Downtown Cairo is seeking a highly experienced Medical Director to lead all clinicaland medical affairs.
- The ideal candidate will be a senior physician with a strong background in hospital-
based medical leadership, clinical governance, and multidisciplinary team management.
As part of the executive leadership team, the Medical Director will play a key role in setting the clinical direction, overseeing quality and safety programs, and ensuring compliance with GAHAR and national - healthcare regulations. This role reports directly to the Hospital Director and the Executive Board of the managing company.
- Responsibilities include:
- Leading the hospital’s overall medical and clinical strategy to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-
based patient care. - Supervising department heads and medical staff across all specialties and ensuring continuous
professional development and performance evaluation. - Collaborating with the Hospital Director and administrative leadership on operational planning, resource
allocation, and clinical service design. - Overseeing the development and implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and patient safety
initiatives. - Ensuring full compliance with Egyptian Ministry of Health regulations, licensing, and GAHAR accreditation
standards. - Leading the medical staff credentialing, privileging, and reappointment processes.
- Monitoring clinical indicators, patient outcomes, and risk management metrics, and leading initiatives for
clinical quality improvement. - Acting as a key liaison with medical staff, nursing leadership, allied health, and support services to ensure
coordination of care and optimal patient flow. - Participating in committees related to quality, ethics, infection control, mortality reviews, and medical education.
- Representing the medical staff in board meetings, strategic planning discussions, and public or regulatory
engagements.
Job Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBCh or equivalent), with a valid Egyptian license to practice.
- Master’s degree in a medical specialty, with strong clinical and leadership credentials.
- Postgraduate qualification in hospital or health management, public health, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ clinical experience, with 5+ years in medical leadership (as Medical Director,
Department Head, or equivalent). - Strong background in clinical governance, patient safety, quality assurance, infection control, and
regulatory compliance. - Familiarity with GAHAR standards, Egyptian MOHP regulations, and international accreditation
frameworks (e.g., JCI). - Excellent leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with hospital information systems (HIS, EMR).
