Job Title: Quantity Surveying Team Leader

Job Purpose
The Quantity Surveying Team Leader supports the Quantity Survey Manager in administering NIT’s contracts, claims, and commercial procedures from the Quantity Surveying perspective. The role is responsible for leading the QS team and managing client and subcontractor interim and final payment certifications, variations, claims, and cost reporting to ensure effective commercial control across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor junior and senior Quantity Surveyors
- Assign tasks, set priorities, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery
- Manage pre- and post-contract quantity surveying activities
- Prepare, review, and finalize client interim and final payment certificates
- Prepare, review, and finalize subcontractor and vendor payment certificates
- Manage and track variations, change orders, and claims, ensuring proper valuation and documentation
- Support the resolution of commercial and contractual disputes
- Review subcontractor and vendor certificates of payment
- Prepare periodic commercial, financial, and cost reports
- Coordinate with project management, procurement, engineering, and construction teams
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery
Key Skills & Competencies
- Cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control
- Tendering, procurement, and contract administration (FIDIC / NEC preferred)
- Measurement and valuation using standard methods
- Strong leadership, delegation, and team management skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, Excel, and Oracle
- Strong communication, negotiation, and reporting skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in infrastructure or industrial projects
- Strong experience in contracts, variations, claims, and cost control
- Fluent in English with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
