Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt, for a Research Scientist and Lecturer specializing in Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics, PCR, NGS, and Infectious Diseases. The role entails conducting advanced research in microbiology and molecular diagnostic techniques, including PCR and NGS, with a focus on infectious diseases. Additional responsibilities include designing and leading research projects, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, training and mentoring students and professionals, and collaborating with local and international research partners. The role also involves contributing to public health initiatives and advancing diagnostic methods and treatment strategies.
Qualifications
Expertise in Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics, with proficiency in PCR and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques In-depth knowledge of infectious diseases and experience designing and conducting research studies in this field Strong academic background in microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field, with a minimum of 20 years of experience Experience in lecturing, training, and mentoring students and healthcare professionals Proficiency in research design, data analysis, and publishing in reputable scientific journals Skills in scientific communication, public health collaboration, and policy development Fluency in English and familiarity with advanced laboratory instrumentation and protocols Experience in international public health projects and collaborations is an advantage
