عن الدورة

This course provides a detailed review of peripheral vascular and cardiac nursing concepts for NCLEX preparation. Students will explore peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and peripheral venous disease (PVD), understanding differences in symptoms, pathology, and management, including arterial vs venous ulcers. Key nursing interventions, assessment techniques, and treatment plans are included. Blood pressure management and cardiovascular pharmacology are covered, including ACE inhibitors, ARBs, calcium channel blockers, loop diuretics, and the RAAS system, with mechanisms of action and nursing considerations. Shock management is reviewed, detailing stages, pathophysiology, and interventions for cardiogenic and distributive shock. Pediatric congenital heart defects are also explored, including truncus arteriosus, coarctation of the aorta, transposition of the great arteries, ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, and tetralogy of Fallot, with nursing assessment and NCLEX-focused care plans. By completing this course, nurses will confidently perform assessments, manage cardiovascular and peripheral vascular conditions, administer medications safely, and apply evidence-based nursing care to adults and pediatric patients, all essential for NCLEX success.
