Job Description
- Develop and review detailed engineering drawings and wiring diagrams for substation secondary systems.
- Coordinate with primary design, civil, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of secondary systems.
- Specify and select appropriate protection relays, control panels, and auxiliary equipment for substations.
- Prepare technical documentation, design calculations, and bill of materials for project execution.
- Conduct technical evaluations of vendor proposals and support procurement processes for secondary equipment.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, local codes) and client specifications in all design activities.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing of substation secondary systems.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering workshops.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- To have 4-8 years of proven experience in substation secondary design engineering.
- Strong knowledge of protection, control, and automation systems for HV/MV substations.
- Strong knowledge of preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience with engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or similar).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A strong understanding of electrical theory, codes & standards of electrical systems.
