Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in HVAC systems to support the delivery of high-quality building services designs across multidisciplinary projects. The role contributes to developing efficient, sustainable, and compliant HVAC solutions while collaborating closely with project teams and clients to achieve project objectives and design excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering Delivery

• Develop HVAC system designs including air conditioning, ventilation, and chilled water systems for building projects.
• Perform equipment selection including AHUs, FCUs, split systems, fans, pumps, and associated mechanical components.
• Carry out duct and piping sizing calculations, system layout planning, and coordination with multidisciplinary design teams.
• Ensure design solutions meet performance, efficiency, and project requirements.

Technical Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports in compliance with international standards and local regulations.
• Apply relevant codes and standards including ASHRAE, SMACNA, and applicable local authority requirements.
• Develop and maintain coordinated BIM models using Revit to support integrated project delivery.

Coordination & Client Engagement

• Participate in client meetings and technical discussions, clearly communicating HVAC design intent and engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with junior engineers, discipline leads, and project teams to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Support resolution of technical issues and maintain alignment with project objectives and client expectations.

Innovation & Problem Solving

• Identify design challenges and propose practical, risk-mitigating engineering solutions.
• Stay updated with industry advancements and adopt modern technologies to enhance system performance and energy efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and technical practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Power Engineering from a reputable university.
• 4–7 years of experience in mechanical building services engineering with focus on HVAC systems.
• Experience working within BIM-based project environments.
• Consultancy or multidisciplinary project experience is preferred.
