Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and control steel fabrication production schedules to meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Supervise and lead a team of fabricators, welders, machine operators, and supervisors.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards in the fabrication of transformer tanks, enclosures, radiators, and other structural steel components.
• Monitor production KPIs such as output, efficiency, downtime, rework, and material utilization.
• Optimize resource allocation including manpower, machines, tools, and raw materials.
• Liaise with design, planning, procurement, and quality departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, quality, and cost control using Lean or Six Sigma principles.
• Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of fabrication equipment (shearing, CNC, plasma cutting, bending machines, welding equipment, etc.).
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to senior management.

Skills

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in steel fabrication, preferably in transformer or heavy electrical equipment manufacturing Company as Production Manager.
• Proven track record in managing production teams and achieving operational targets.
• Sound knowledge of welding standards (MIG, TIG, SAW), fabrication processes, and steel material handling.
• Familiarity with transformer tank dimensions, tolerances, and mechanical fitment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and production planning software (e.g., ERP, ORACLE, etc.).
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards is a plus.
