Job Description

he Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with corporate and individual clients, and promoting the brokerage’s service and offerings. This role combines strategy, client engagement, and sales execution to drive growth in premium revenue and client base.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a robust business development strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Identify and target prospective clients across key market segments (corporate, SME, individual).
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, insurers, and partners.
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, events, and digital platforms.
  • Present and promote suitable insurance products (life, health, general, or specialty lines) based on client needs.
  • Negotiate and close deals in collaboration with underwriting and client servicing teams.
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to refine the sales approach.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and prepare periodic performance reports.
  • Represent the company in industry events, expos, and seminars.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.


Skills

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of business development or sales experience in the insurance sector (brokerage experience preferred).
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products, policy structures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C environments is an advantage.
