Description
Job Title: Cost Engineer
The Cost Engineer plays a crucial role in the successful execution of our projects, ensuring accurate financial oversight and data-driven insights to support project management decisions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our team at MAPA Group, working on large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage comprehensive cost control systems, aligned with the approved baseline schedule, project scope, and cost breakdown structures.
- Monitor and track project budgets, commitments, actual expenditures, and forecasts across all disciplines and project phases.
- Perform in-depth earned value analysis (EVA) and generate cost performance metrics (e.g., CPI, SPI) to assess project health.
- Prepare and update monthly cost reports, including forecast-to-complete (FTC) and estimate-at-completion (EAC) evaluations for senior management.
- Analyze and report the cost impact of change orders, delays, and scope modifications, coordinating with contract and planning teams for early risk identification.
- Manage the full employer/client payment application process, including preparation and timely submission of interim progress payment applications.
- Ensure integration and consistency between planning, procurement, and cost control data for cross-departmental alignment and reporting integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in cost control and project controls, preferably on large-scale construction, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP, Oracle Primavera Cost Module, or equivalent ERP/project control platforms.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for data analysis, pivot tables, and dashboard reporting.
- Deep understanding of cost control methodologies, including WBS/CBS development, budgeting, forecasting, and earned value management principles.
