Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Cost Engineer to join our team. As a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, controlling, and forecasting project costs across various phases.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and control project costs throughout the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Support the development and continuous updates of the Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimate.
• Track project budgets and commitments against actual expenditures, highlighting variances and risks.
• Collaborate with procurement and contracts teams to ensure accurate cost capture and forecasting of purchase orders and subcontracts.
• Participate in weekly and monthly cost reviews with site and corporate project controls teams.
• Provide detailed cost reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor change orders, claims, and trends that may affect the overall TIC.
• Validate field progress and performance against cost and schedule baselines.
• Interface with planning/scheduling and quantity surveying teams to ensure integrated cost and schedule reporting.
• Assist with earned value management (EVM), productivity analysis, and forecasting.
• Evaluate compliance with company procedures, client reporting requirements, and industry best practices.
Skills
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Experience in cost engineering, preferably on major construction and/or mining projects.
• Familiarity with Total Installed Cost (TIC) methodologies and project controls processes.
• Proficiency with cost control software such as EcoSys, Prism, SAP, or Oracle Primavera (P6).
• Advanced Excel skills for custom cost modeling and reporting.
• Familiarity with earned value management and construction progress measurement.
• Experience working in remote or site-based project environments.
