Job Description

• Attending to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
• Reviewing submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice.
• Reporting any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with approved drawing and specifications and report to stakeholders for appropriate action.
• Monitor daily site activities and ensure proper installation practices are followed,
• Maintaining records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
• Preparing surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non-conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events.
• Checking and ensure effective co-ordination between discipline related works and all other disciplines.
• Providing technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise.
• Verify that testing and commissioning procedures are carried out correctly.
• Coordinate with structural, architectural, and other MEP disciplines to resolve technical and site issues.
• Ensure that delivered mechanical materials and equipment comply with specifications and approved submittals.
• Ensure all mechanical installations adhere to quality requirements, project specifications, and QA/QC procedures.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university.
• 5+ years of experience in site supervision of construction of mechanical systems including plumbing, HVAC, firefighting, LPG, Fuel Oil, BMS, Medical gases systems in buildings, particularly in hospitals. The role involves review of shop drawings & material submittals, inspection of materials & installations, and supervising testing & commissioning procedures ensuring adherence to project specifications, best industry practices and safety standards.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, SMACNA).
• Proficiency in reading drawings, technical documents, and specifications.
• Good understanding of site safety requirements.
• Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word for Windows, Excel for Windows, AutoCAD
• Ability to learn - Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning new things
• Ability to solve problems with initiative, decision-making, creativity, and critical thinking and to communicate and transmit knowledge and skills.
• Ability to work under pressure 
• Excellent communication skills
