Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Design and develop wiring harness schematics and layouts using CAD software, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project specifications.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of wiring harnesses, identifying and resolving any electrical or mechanical issues to guarantee product reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and manufacturing personnel, to ensure seamless integration of wiring harnesses into overall product designs.
Create and maintain detailed documentation, including bill of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and test procedures, for efficient manufacturing and troubleshooting.
Analyze and optimize wiring harness designs to minimize material costs, reduce weight, and improve overall performance.
Oversee the prototyping and build process of wiring harnesses, providing technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in wiring harness design and manufacturing.
Troubleshoot complex electrical problems in existing wiring harnesses, diagnosing and implementing effective solutions.
Ensure all wiring harnesses comply with relevant safety regulations and standards, such as UL, CSA, and IPC.
Manage and track wiring harness projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget constraints.

Desired Candidate Profile

Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrates proficiency in using CAD software, such as AutoCAD or CATIA, for creating wiring harness schematics and layouts.
Has a strong understanding of electrical principles, including circuit design, component selection, and signal integrity.
Experience with wire and cable selection, connector types, and termination techniques.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 and ISO
Possesses excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Exhibits a strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
