About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Expert with demonstrable resettlement expertise to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all project activities align with environmental, social, and lender requirements while promoting sustainability and responsible development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) for infrastructure or development projects.
• Conduct resettlement planning and manage related social safeguard activities.
• Ensure compliance with national environmental laws and regulations.
• Implement and monitor Lenders’ Environmental and Social Requirements (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESF, ADB Safeguards).
• Prepare and review technical reports, management plans, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Provide expert guidance on mitigation measures, environmental monitoring, and sustainability integration.
• Support gender-sensitive approaches in project planning and implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Biology, Environmental Science, or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental studies and ESIA impact assessment.
• Proven knowledge of local environmental and social regulations.
• Hands-on experience with international Lender environmental and social frameworks and successful implementation in past projects.
• Prior work as a Gender Specialist or experience integrating gender considerations is an advantage.
