  • Job Title:  Utilities Engineer Supervisor
  • Overview:
    The Senior Utilities Engineer is responsible for supervising, designing, operating, and maintaining all utility systems within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role ensures the continuous, efficient, and safe delivery of utilities such as steam, thermal oil, compressed air, water, and electricity. The Senior Engineer leads a team to achieve operational excellence, energy efficiency, and full compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and oversee the operation and maintenance of all utility systems, including thermal oil plant, steam plant, compressed air systems, water treatment, cooling plant, vacuum system, and power generators.
  • Lead a team of technicians to ensure uninterrupted utility supply to production lines.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and ensure timely execution.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards.
  • Analyze utility system performance, energy, and water consumption to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Initiate and lead energy-saving and cost-optimization projects.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate utilities with plant operations.
  • Prepare reports, KPIs, and technical documentation for management review.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and coaching to junior engineers and operators.
  • Participate in equipment commissioning, upgrades, and troubleshooting activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in utilities operations and maintenance, preferably within the chemicals or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong hands-on experience with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and water treatment systems.
  • Proven leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering and maintenance management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CMMS).
  • Strong understanding of process control systems, instrumentation, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic production environment.
