  • Set and evolve coding standards, architectural conventions, and CI quality gates
  • Publish clear quality reports (who meets standards, where coaching is needed)
  • Design and ship scalable services and systems; make crisp technical decisions; dig deep to root-cause issues
  • Partner with PM and stakeholders to identify gaps early and shape pragmatic solutions
  • Model systems (context/container/components), data/sequence flows, and keep documentation living and trustworthy
  • Be a go-to knowledge source; lift the team with playbooks, workshops, and examples
  • Write production code and independently ship features end-to-end when needed
  • Adopt new technologies responsibly via small PoCs, success criteria, and measured rollouts
  • Optimize performance and cost across application, data, and infrastructure layers with real metrics
  • Leads the technical direction and code quality across engineers
  • Owns a primary codebase and may support up to two projects at a time
  • Final merge authority for the codebase; “tech-ready” sign-off (tests, performance, security)
  • Works closely with PM/PMO, QA, and DevOps/SRE for smooth delivery

Minimum qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering, including 3+ years leading projects or squads
  • Proven track record designing scalable systems, establishing standards, and improving delivery predictability
  • Strong hands-on coding skills and code-review discipline in a modern backend or full-stack environment
  • Comfort shaping APIs/contracts, data models, and integration patterns
  • Practical experience with CI/CD, automated testing, basic security practices, and production monitoring
  • Clear, concise communication; turns ambiguity into small, testable steps
