Job Description
- Define heat-treatment cycles (hardening, tempering, induction, normalizing, stress-relief, nitriding).
- Review material certificates (MTC), chemical composition, and mechanical test results.
- Perform metallurgical investigations, microstructural analysis, and hardness mapping.
- Analyze failures (fracture, wear, fatigue, overload) and recommend corrective actions.
- Verify supplier material quality and ensure compliance with ASTM, EN, DIN standards.
- Support QC department in inspection criteria for materials and heat-treated components.
- Provide technical support to sales/BD for customer inquiries related to materials & metallurgy.
- Prepare metallurgical reports and maintain documentation for ISO/QA systems.
- Improve production processes to enhance material performance and reduce defects.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in metallurgy or a closely related field, preferably within heavy industry manufacturing.
- Proven expertise in metallurgical testing, analysis, and process optimization.
- Strong understanding of metals, alloys, heat treatment, and material properties.
- Experience with quality assurance and control procedures in an industrial setting.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in using metallurgical laboratory equipment and analytical tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
