I’m hiring a Unity VR developer for a focused 5-month full-time remote contract to help build and polish some VR projects in Unity. If the collaboration goes well, this can extend into a longer-term role on a bigger roadmap after the initial 5 months.
Budget: $450/month (fixed)
Location: Remote
Start: ASAP
What you’ll do
- Develop and refine VR gameplay systems in Unity (OpenXR / XR Interaction Toolkit)
- Implement core mechanics, UI/menus, basic progression, and gameplay flow
- Optimize performance for VR (stable FPS, clean interactions)
- Integrate assets (3D, UI, audio) and keep the project organized
- Deliver weekly playable builds and fix bugs quickly
Requirements
- Strong Unity experience (C#)
- Hands-on experience with VR development in Unity
- Good understanding of VR best practices + performance optimization
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly (daily check-ins)
- Comfortable with Git (or willing to use it)
Nice to have
- Shipped project / prototype
- Experience with UI, Addressables, input systems, basic shaders
